research work to complete the thesis successfully.
The authors express their sincere gratitude and are greatly indebted to Major Mohammad
Shafiul Azam, PhD, Engrs as their supervisor for his immense support, proper advisory,
encouragement and useful critiques. The authors would also like to thank Colonel Mir
Sarwar Hossain Chowdhury, afwc, psc, the Head of the department of Environmental,
Water Resources and Coastal Engineering and the faculty members of the department as
